A PIECE of plastic which found its way into a Worcester newsagent's crisp supply has been traced to the factory where it was made.
Skips manufacturers KP Foods temporarily halted its production line on Thursday while the origin of the 2in piece was found.
Now the firm is compiling a report into how the piece ended up in a packet of Skips opened by newsagent Josh Sunsoa this week.
Mr Sunsoa, who runs a shop in Gillam Street, Rainbow Hill, took the remainder of his two boxes of Skips off the shelves when he opened a bag and cut his finger on the plastic last week.
"Once I have the report from KP, I'll be quite happy to put them back on the shelves," said Mr Sunsoa yesterday.
A spokeswoman for the firm, which makes Skips at a site in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, confirmed the incident was isolated, with no other reports of similar discoveries from around the country.
"It was an isolated part of the factory where the product was moving around and something appears to have snapped off," she said.
"This hasn't happened before. We don't believe it would have caused any damage and no one would have eaten it by mistake because it was too big."
