It has been decided by the county council that there shall be an annual inspection of the sheep on the hills, with the object of detecting and preventing the spread of disease so common among the fleecy flock. Malvern Gazette, June 14, 1901.

On Wednesday evening, the approaches to the railway station at Bromyard were thronged with friends to bid a hearty welcome to Sergeant Browne, who went to the front some 18 months ago as a trooper but who returned promoted from the ranks. On Saturday, around 170 beekeepers from across Worcestershire enjoyed their first summer rally for over ten years in the beautiful grounds of Eastnor Castle, by kind permission of the Hon Mrs Hervey-Bathurst. Malvern Gazette, June 15, 1951.

Mrs Mary Hamilton Cartland of Littlewood House, Poolbrook, Malvern, mother of Barbara Cartland the author and playwright, died on February 21, leaving £10,976.28 gross, £3,197.69 net. Malvern Gazette, June 17, 1976.

Tarrington was hit by a water shortage when someone stole the parish pump during the weekend. The pump serves cottages in the Durlow Common area of the village, which is not connected to the mains.

It was missed when Mr Alfred Baker went with containers to draw a week's supply of water. Ledbury Reporter, June 17, 1976.
