THE new angling season gets underway on Saturday but with confusion surrounding just which venues are open and closed after the foot and mouth outbreak, a list has been drawn up of what is available.

Members should note that in some instances the BAA have private rights of access which are not dependant on public rights of way and therefore members may ignore 'Footpath closed' signs if the venue is listed as open. However, members are being advised that, under no circumstances, should they attempt to enter any fishery which is listed as closed.

Clubs with contests booked on closed waters may transfer to a canal or apply for a replacement contest on anther date.
