A WORCESTER man, who has been fencing for just 20 months, is competing in the HSA National Wheelchair Championships in Cardiff at the end of the month.
Mark Fuller (pictured above) came third in his class and fifth overall in last year's tournament and is hoping for a better showing this time round.
The 38-year-old, who is competing in all three weapons' levels --foil, epee and sabre -- enjoys the cut and thrust of the sport.
"I enjoy the fighting, it is one on one and you are fighting for yourself," he said.
"But there is also a team competition so you get both sides of the coin as well."
Mark, who trains with Droitwich Spa Fencing Club, is also preparing with the Great Britain squad for a World Cup event in Poland.
If he is successful there and can find sponsorship he could also land a place at the European championships in Italy in October.
