TONY Blair delivered good news and bad news for Worcestershire MPs following his landslide General Election victory.
Former Dyson Perrins C E High School pupil Jacqui Smith retained her place in the Government after being named as a Minister of State at the Department of Health.
Elected as MP for Redditch in 1997, Ms Smith joined the Government in July 1999 as Under Secretary of State for School Standards.
Before becoming an MP, Ms Smith taught economics at Arrow Vale High School, Redditch, and Worcester Sixth Form College, before being appointed head of economics at Haybridge High School at Hagley in 1990.
A few days before polling day, she visited The Chase in Malvern, where her mother, Jill, had been head of economics.
There was not such good news for the Powick-based Birmingham Edgbaston MP, Gisella Stuart, who served as a Junior Health Minister in the last administration but who has not been given a new post in the reshuffle.
