FROM plate smashing and coconut shies to vintage cars and bric-a-brac, there was something for everyone at Hanley Swan's Grand Village Fete.
Organised by the village hall management committee and held in the garden of Quakers Farm, last Saturday's event attracted 275 paying visitors and raised £1,530.
"We had a brilliant day. It poured down at noon as we were setting everything up and then held its breath all afternoon," said Joanna Atkinson, of the management committee. "It was very well supported and we were amazed at how much money we took."
The proceeds will help pay for new fireproof curtains and non-slip flooring for the village hall extension.
