LAST Sunday's Morning Service at St Peters marked Trinity Sunday and was a truly family occasion. Four young children were baptised and their families and friends filled the church. Baptised and welcomed into the church by the Vicar, Rev David Nichol, were Harry Edward Stewart Brighton, Eleanor Jane Neale, Joseph Mason Johnson-Sturdy, all of Byrons Wood, and Phoebe Alexandra Sanders of The Netherlands. The choir led the singing with organist Sally Linsey; the reading was by Meg Allsopp, the prayers led by Jo Walker. The collection was taken by Rita de Boer, Maisie Mason, Kris Quatermass and Joan Roper with grandson Jo!

Twenty people arrived at the Church of Our Lady and St Alphonsus, Blackmore Park, last Wednesday for a five mile walk to Upton-upon-Severn, half were from Powick Parish Ramblers. Unfortunately the group split into three groups and each arrived in Upton via a slightly different route. Nevertheless the weather stayed fine and warm, the countryside looked wonderful and three dogs enjoyed the freedom of the country lanes. The pond at Hanley Swan looked particularly beautiful with water lilies and water fowl. Gilver's Lane, Tiltridge Farm and Clive's Fruit Farm were passed, before the walkers reached the River Severn and refreshment at the White Lion.

Twelve members of 1st Powick Brownies had great fun last Sunday afternoon at the Worcester Division Guides "It's a Knock-Out" at Blackmore Camp Site, Hanley Swan. Over 300 Brownies and Guides took part in a variety of whacky sports - bouncy castles, wet sponges, gunge tanks, skittles, giant snakes and ladders, dice games, obstacle races etc. in all they moved around 24 different bases in team of 12 girls. There was plenty of opportunity to get wet, and the weather stayed fine all afternoon

Powick Church will be open on Saturday afternoons between 2pm and 5pm during June, July and August as part of the Through the Church Door project.
