TWELVE dedicated staff from the parks department have their work cut out as they take it in shifts to keep the Worcester in Bloom floral displays watered and in good condition for the Britain in Bloom competition judging on Wednesday, July 11.

Between them the team has to keep 300 hanging baskets constantly moist with first shifts starting at 7am and the last finishing at 9pm.

"It is a mammoth task, but it's something we all enjoy and take pride in. It's one of the best jobs," said Ian Fraser, head of the parks and cemeteries department.
