WORCESTER'S Mayor gained an insight into one of the area's many charities during an information evening this week.
Councillor David Clark and his wife Lynette joined members of local voluntary and professional organisations to hear the objectives of the Elizabeth Finn Trust.
Regional co-ordinator of the charity Helen Ambrey said the evening at The Old Palace in Deansway raised a great deal of awareness.
"We let local organisations know we are here to help people in the area," she said.
"As well as the Mayor and Mayoress, members from social services, the health authority and professionals were all interested in what we had to say."
The Trust, which owns a nursing and residential home in Droitwich, also sends workers out to see people in their own homes.
It aims to relieve need and distress among people, whether it be because of old age, infirmity, social isolation or finances.
"We can give one-off grants or ongoing help," said Mrs Ambrey.
