EVESHAM'S Darren Selvey helped Gloucestershire men defeat reigning county pool champions, Northamp-tonshire, at the Matchplay Club in Stroud last weekend.
Selvey was in outstanding form as Gloucestershire's rise to the top gathered momentum as their opponents were crushed at all levels.
The county now top all four categories at the season's midway point and have sent a message loud and clear that every effort will be made to create a new record of all four sides winning their divisions to qualify and represent Region Five at the all-England finals at Great Yarmouth.
Manager Brian Goddard was the proudest man in the club and was overjoyed by the standard of play produced by his county charges.
He is confident he can deliver title success to Gloucestershire for the first time as his rising young stars continue to improve with confidence in the camp sky high.
The ladies perhaps produced the day's best win, while the junior team are now unbeaten in the region for three years.
