TRAMPOLINE ace Stuart Lightfoot has jeopardised his chances of competing in the British championships - by breaking his foot.
The 11-year-old Rubery resident is now in a race against time to be fit for the two-day competition, at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena, which starts on July 7.
He broke his foot on Saturday June 2 when he used it to stop the pedals of an exercise bike which someone else was using.
The leg was put in a special brace at the Alexandra Hospital, in Redditch.
It can be taken off at night so the foot can be wrapped in ice to reduce swelling.
His family are now appealing for a physiotherapist to help Stuart back to fitness.
Mum Julie Kite-Lightfoot said: "He has worked so hard in the last 12 months and he has shown sheer dedication and commitment to his sport. He is very upset.
"If Stuart is given the all-clear we hope the break will heal a week before the competition.
"His leg will be weak but he still wants to take part. Any help would be really appreciated."
