Evesham Jubilee AS

THE season starts on Sunday with members fishing for the Simon de Montfort Cup.

Following the lifting of MAFF restrictions, the event - part of the Avon Shield series - will be staged at Fladbury with the draw at the Jubilee Bridge at 7am.

Members are reminded that any outstanding subscriptions are due to be paid to the treasurer G Mytton or J Davis.

Members interested in taking part in the EDAA Summer League and Knockout Cup should give names to N Green or J Davis this weekend.

Major prize winners for the past season were presented with their trophies at an enjoyable presentation evening.

Evesham DAA

DELEGATES of members clubs are asked to note that the monthly meeting will take place next Tuesday.

The Summer League will start next Wednesday and team entries should be submitted to the match secretary, H Norledge, as soon as possible.

When all monies have been paid the draw will take place from 5.30pm. EDAA card payments must be made before the series starts and clubs are reminded of bank clearance duties.

Evesham and District Disabled Angling Club/Partnerships

ELEVEN members met at Lemington Lakes last Sunday for the first match in the Summer Sunday League.

Fishing in mixed weather, Wayne Panting followed up his Gloucestershire Disabled open success of the previous week, with a fine winning net of 17.4.0, a clear 10lb ahead of second place Frank Lake, who finished with 7.1.0.

For the second club match running the club secretary Nigel Howe came third with 6.13.0.

Members are reminded that booked in competitors should meet at the Old Post Office, High Street, Evesham at 7.15am on Sunday.

Members are also reminded that the evening summer season starts on June 21, the draw is at 5.30pm prompt, fish from 6pm until 9pm on the Pleasure Gardens.

M&M Worms/Evesham Youth AC

THE M&M Worms/ Evesham Youth Junior Team of Jon Bagulay, Dave Jones, Elliott Canning, Jon Tingle, Matthew Smith & David Smith finished second team at Sunday's NJAA KO held at Tunnel Barn Farm.

The top individual weight on the day went to Bagulay with a weight of more than 35 pounds. He saw off 47 other young anglers to record his best match result to date.

Team members and all newcomers are reminded that the popular Journal Series starts on the Town Waters on Monday from 5.15pm at the new bridge.

Tunnel Barn Farm

ALL pools are still giving good results with match weights around 50 to 60lb needed to frame.

Good pleasure weights from all areas with the best carp going 22lb on the Bottom Pool.

The Bottom Pool is also giving excellent sport with chub going to 2lb plus.

The Top Pool is starting to show more form as big carp get over spawnings.

Barbel are showing on House One as well as carp in the 3 to 4lb mark.

House Two is still giving excellent all-round sport.

Best baits are pellets, worm and corn.

The Canal is good for carp with bream and roach to maggot or perch to worm over chopped worm.
