BEN Bales has been in fine form with the bat at both junior and senior levels.

The Pershore teenager top scored with 40 as the club's second string extended their unbeaten record in a losing Worcestershire County League draw at Pedmore last weekend.

Luke Eversham (37) also shone in a stout middle order showing after Pershore's reply to the home side's 166-6 had slumped to 25-3.

On a difficult track, victory always seemed remote for the visitors but they stuck around to force a draw at 150-7.

Earlier, Evesham capped a fine all-round day with three wickets after opener Horwood had overcome a sticky start against some tight Pershore bowling.

However, his half-century and a quickfire 48 from skipper Denton ensured the visitors had a difficult post-tea target.

Bales's efforts had earlier helped the under-15s reach the second round of the Sun Life Cup after a home win over Malvern Ramblers.

A young Pershore side batted first and solid innings from Rob Handley (50) and Tom Bales (21) allied to Ben's breezy knock saw the hosts post a total of 141 off 20 overs.

The Bales brothers then picked up an early wicket apiece and a couple of Handley later on in the reply helped restrict Malvern to 119-8.

The club's senior side stayed in fourth spot in Division One of the Worcestershire League after picking up 14 points from Saturday's winning draw against Pedmore.

The Bottoms' hosts totalled 164-8 in their allotted overs before a spell of 6-46 from Mark Johnson helped reduce third in the table Pedmore to 113-9.

Fladbury are one place better off in Division Six after they too collected 14 points at the expense of visitors Brintons.

Leonard (52no) and Revell (48) helped the villagers rattle up a respectable 210-7 to which Turner's unbeaten 72 was the main source of runs in a reply of 159-5.
