KIDDERMINSTER Harriers are looking to encourage more young fans through the Aggborough turnstiles next season.

They hope to tempt youngsters with a price scheme which would make it possible for under 16s to be admitted for just £1 a game.

Chairman Lionel Newton explained: "This coming season we have structured admission prices for our junior supporters in a way that makes it affordable for everyone.

"Basically, if under 16s buy a season ticket they can gain admission for just £1 a game which is terrific value.

"Although this won't bring much more revenue through the gates, it will hopefully get more youngsters to come to our matches and hopefully they will build an affinity with the club which they will take on with them in future years.

"Once these kids grow up and have children of their own they will hopefully bring them along to Aggborough."

Meanwhile, Kidderminster are planning to have a brand new squad next season - of cheer-leaders!

They will be called 'The Harrier Jump Jets' and are the brainchild of profess-ional dance teacher Sara Williams who coaches cheerleaders around the world.

Harriers' media manager Steve Thomas explained: "Sara approached me a few

months ago to discuss her proposal and after listening to her ideas I was con-vinced it was worth a go.

"I have seen this kind of thing done at other clubs and in all honestly I haven't been that impressed. However, Sara's professionalism will ensure it will be done well here.

"We, as a club, are always looking at ways of improving everything we do off the pitch. I don't remember us having cheerleaders before and I'm hoping it will be a big hit with the fans."
