LEIGH Sinton's Steve Warburton finished third in the latest rounds of the Club Formula Palmer Audi motor racing championship at Donington Park near Derby on Sunday.
The Worcestershire driver had started the third and fourth rounds of the 12 race series from the front row on the 20 car grid for both races.
In the opening 12 lap race, Steve finished four seconds behind winner Adrian Willmott and in the second race, over 16 seconds down on double winner Willmott.
All of the single seater racing cars are powered by 1.8 litre turbocharged Audi engines aimed at putting the emphasis on individual driver skill.
The next events in the Formula Palmer Audi series, a championship initiated by Britain's former Grand Prix driver, Jonathan Palmer, are at Mondello Park near Dublin on July 1.
