A DISTINGUISHED visitor at the third annual Elgar festival 50 years ago was the famous writer J B Priestley, who was the guest of Malvern Writers' Circle.
Mr Priestley spent two hours talking about aspects of his craft and dealing with subjects which included the future of the theatre, television's growing challenge to writers, the functions of the press and the differences between British and American writing.
