IS it not obvious that nurses, when expected to get more work done in a shorter time, will be forced to work more ardently in yet less time?
I was a nurse in the Second World war and have been a patient in three hospitals and rest and nursing homes since April 4, 1999. I've had four cancer operations, too.
I would not wish poor health on anyone through lack of treatment or care, but I feel Tony Blair needs to realise we need nurses of care and quality and not just quantity.
He must learn to truly know what Florence Nightingale and Queen Victoria knew about real and consistent care and compassion.
