THE Downs School, Colwall is the venue for A Midsummer Serenade later this month.
Violinist Barrie Moore and friends will be performing a varied programme of music to raise money for the Malvern Suzuki school for strings, which Mr Moore runs.
The programme includes Arvo Prt's Fratres and Spiegel im Spiegel, the Haydn Piano Trio Hob. XIII in G, Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata and Shostakovitch's Three Fantastic Dances performed by Mr Moore with pianists Michael Channon and Patricia Morgan and cellist Geoffrey Meadon.
Mr Moore is the former deputy leader of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and has played with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in The Netherlands. Over the years he has taught musicians who have gone on to study at various music colleges.
The concert starts at 7.30pm on Saturday, June 23. Tickets are £12 on 01684 893343.
