RAMBLERS Sunday Seconds captain Andy Croft lost the toss and was asked to bowl first.

On a good batting wicket and lightning out field, the batsman found runs quite easy to come by and after their 40 overs Lye were 214 for six.

D Sharp and R Cullen opened the batting for the Ramblers. Cullen went third over for 0 which brought S Walker to the crease.

Wickets began to fall, Sharp was out for 29. Walker, after playing some fine shots was out for 33 and S Holmes went first ball.

At 110-5 after 26 overs it looked unlikely Ramblers would reach the runs required. This brought A Bywater to the crease who brought Ramblers back into the game with a fine 51.

More runs from R Evans (31) and Hughes 24no was to make it an exciting finish. Ramblers needed seven to win off the last over with two wickets left. With three balls left Ramblers needed four to win. Mitchell (12) was stumped on the fourth ball of the over - this brought Croft to the crease. With the first ball he received a Yorker which he had to dig out. With four still needed Croft swung at the last ball and it went safely into the keeper's hands. Ramblers finished on 211-8, losing by three runs.

On Sunday Ramblers 2nd are at home to Pershore 2nd. Players will be notified.
