THE South West Midlands Regional Round of the Lords Taverners Under 11s Cup was played at Malvern Ramblers CC on June 1 with the teams divided in to two groups.

The first match in Group A saw Malvern Ramblers easily beaten by Dominies & Guild. Ramblers could only muster a net 206 with only Lewis Hooper and Max White making significant scores. Dominies strolled to a net 286 with Max Sharp (2) and Liam Blackmore taking the only wickets.

Dominies then beat Worcester Nomads by ten runs in a close match.

Ramblers then faced Nomads and scored an improved net 237 with Callum Campbell scoring 13, Max White 12 not out and Lewis Hooper 11 not out. Nomads with J Smith hitting 36 not out powered to a net 314 with Ramblers again only claiming three wickets with two to Liam Blackmore.

In Group B Barnards Green faced Old Elizabethans and lost by 36 runs with Phil Harris (19 not out) and Richard Tuck (16) being top scorers for the Malvern side. Worcester then recorded a total of 261 against the Green and won by 25 runs. Liam Paddock took three wickets for the Green with Adam Price being the top scorer.

Old Elizabethans then beat Worcester by 37 runs thanks to taking 12 wickets.

Worcester Nomads beat Worcester in the third/fourth place play off by the comfortable margin of 38 runs. Monkley and Bryant top scored for Nomads with Lowles and Smith both claiming two wickets.

In the final Dominies reached a net 279 with Brett D'Oliveira (22) and Adam Wilkes (16) being top scorers. Old Elizabethans could only manage 235 so Dominies & Guild go forward to represent the South West Midlands at the Finals at Wolverhampton in July.

Gerald Wadley representing the Midlands Club Cricket Conference presented medals to the players and thanked Lords Taverners for sponsoring the competition, the umpires, groundsman Dave Hinton and all those who helped make the day a success.
