LINK WARD

(Two Seats)

PAUL TUTHILL - Malvern Town Action Group:

"MALVERN deserves and needs a better Town Council.

The Malvern Gazette has accurately reported the shambolic performance of the current Council. The letters to the paper have clearly stated residents outrage and disgust.

A few responsible councillors have resigned. In the recent poll 92.4 per cent of the voters requested that the remaining councillors should resign and seek re-election. They haven't.

"The current Council appears to have no concept of prudent financial management. Vote for the Malvern Town Action Group (MTAG) candidates in the Election on Thursday, June 14 and help us to start to reform this out of control Council."

VIV THOMSON - Malvern Town Action Group:

Lived in Malvern since 1952, most of that time in Malvern Link. Educated Chase High & U.C.W. Qualifications; R.M.N. Dip H.E.; Bsc(nursing) Msc (Clinical Nursing). Occupation; Clinical Nurse Manager local mental health facility. Chair - Victoria Park Residents' Association.

"My recent dealings with the town council as chair of our local residents' association have shown me that they do not respond to the real needs of the local people or their concerns. This, combined with the existing councillors apparent disdain for the results of the recent poll has prompted me to stand for election and help to effect some positive change."

The third candidate, Victoria Evans, was unavailable for comment.

LANGLAND WARD

(One Seat)

ANNE STONES - Independent:

"I WOULD like the opportunity of representing Langland Ward on the Town Council because I am from Malvern and live in the centre of Langland and know the local issues that affect the Ward.

"I have no political ties and I am not a member of any pressure groups so I would be standing as an Independent candidate in order to be a voice for the residents of Langland.

"I would hope to help ensure that Council spending is kept to reasonable levels whilst making sure that the Town's assets are repaired and maintained to a standard that will enable them to be used now and in the future.

LYNNE HALL - Malvern Town Action Group:

LYNNE has lived in Malvern since the 70s. She has always taken a keen interest in local issues and politics. A teacher by profession she has a strong interest in social issues. Her work currently involves supporting children with special needs.

"I have decided to stand for election as a MTAG candidate as there is a crying need to bring financial sanity and commonsense to the town council!

"My skills and experience make me an ideal person to ensure that the Council starts to work for the benefit of all the people of Malvern."
