I WOULD like to thank everyone involved in helping my son, Lee Coppin, after his accident near Earnslaw Quarry on the afternoon of Sunday, May 20 - the walkers for their kindness who telephoned for the ambulance, his friends who stayed with him and organised his belongings and the emergency services for all of their efforts. He is doing well in hospital, despite suffering broken ribs, fractured wrist and fractured pelvis.
I say he is lucky as he fell face down about 50ft. Fortunately, he was wearing some armour and a full-face crash hat, otherwise I wonder what his injuries might have been.
It is good to be able to enjoy the freedom of the Malvern Hills again but please look after your own safety and the safety of others.
HELEN JONES, Skyrrold Road, Malvern.
