ORGANISERS of a summer bonfire and fireworks display are desperately looking for another venue, because a field at Upton Marina is no longer available.
The bonfire in aid of Upton Water Festival is planned for next Saturday (June 16), to make up for the cancellation of the traditional November 5 celebration.
"The other bonfire ended up in Bristol because of the floods," said Sue Walker, of Upton's Water Festival committee. "So we decided to have a summer one instead and to make the evening really special we arranged to have quad bikes, a bouncy castle and a barbecue. The posters were all out before we heard that we couldn't have it at the Marina." Mrs Walker is hoping to make alternative arrangements, which will be announced in the Malvern Gazette next Friday. A car boot sale in aid of the Water Festival will go ahead as planned on Sunday, June 17, at Upton Sports Field. For details, call 01684 592055.
