On Sunday (June 10) there will be a Service of Holy Communion at St Mary's Church at 8am. Later that day at 11.15am Bridge Builders meets in the Vicarage. In the evening Check it Out meets in the Vicarage from 6.30-8pm.

Longdon Churchwomen's Fellowship met on May 30. Members of Tewkesbury Methodist Wives Group and Berrow Welcome Club were guests. Mrs Frances Lawrence gave a very interesting talk with slides as an introduction to Denmark.

This is where she has spent much time visiting various areas and staying with friends on a farm in Jutland, the northern part of the country. The recent history of the country, their royal family, the varying countryside, styles of building, Copenhagen and its many attractions were all covered with a wealth of slides. How much of Denmark is still very rural! Even so, with mechanisation of farming, only 5% of the population is employed in the industry.

Particularly interesting was the farmhouse where she and her husband stay. Built round a courtyard with three sides as living accommodation and one side for machinery and even animals, it was reminiscent of some 18th Century farm layouts in England. Single storey building also seemed to prevail in parts of the country.

The next meeting is on Wednesday, June 27 when we shall be visiting Merebrook Aquatics at Hanley Swan, departing from the Village Hall at 7pm. If wet we shall have a 'Surprise Meeting' in the Village Hall at 7.30pm.
