MEMBERS of Great Witley Operatic Society will be hitting the high notes thanks to a £500 donation from npower.
The money was presented to the group via the service provider's community volunteer scheme.
"The aim of the operatic society is to encourage an appreciation of music," said Kathryn Clayton who works for npower in Worcester and applied for the grant as she is a member of the group.
"We perform an annual production and concerts for charity at Worcester Swan Theatre.
"In May, we performed Iolanthe and the donation was used to cover the cost of promotional posters and flyers and a banner which was displayed in Worcester.
Social and energy action director, Philip Kear, who heads npower community volunteers scheme, said npower was committed to helping its wide range of charities and projects.
"Staff can apply for financial support through the community volunteers scheme on behalf of organisations with which they are involved," he said.
"We have also expanded the scheme so that staff who would like to become community volunteers can be matched to requests that we receive from local community groups who require assistance."
