OVER the last few weeks, Francis Lankester has written many letters to the Evening News.
Well, what a lot of rubbish he writes, only fit for the dustbin! First, pensioners are not living in poverty. A tight budget, yes, but even more so if the Tories were back in power.
They would have taken away the £200 winter fuel payments for a start. Remember the Tory boom and bust years, when all they paid out at Christmas was £10?
Our medical treatment is the best in the world - there is always someone to gripe about it. As for education, Mr Lankester, being a teacher himself, must know what improvements and money have been invested in education and schools.
Probably because of his teacher's salary he sees himself as middle-class, so therefore he supports the Tories. Under Labour it is hard-working families, as well as the underprivileged who are helped out, not just the privileged few.
