CAMERON Mather is still in shock after being included in the Worcester side to face Coventry tomorrow.

The 28-year-old flanker got his chance earlier than expected after Christian Evans picked up an ankle knock in Worcester's weekend win over Bedford. He goes straight into the side at Coundon as leaders Worcester hope to continue their 100 per cent start to the season in National League Division One.

He said: "It was a bit of a shock because I'd expected to play in some reserve games before coming into the first team. However, I'd not knocking it -- I'm delighted to be playing!"

Mather, who signed from Edinburgh Reivers last week, is getting used to life in the city after spending two years at the Welsh/Scottish League side. He said: "It's difficult to assess the different qualities of the leagues because the only National League game I've seen so far is last week's game with Bedford played in atrocious conditions. I am really looking forward to Coventry though."

Worcester go into the Coventry clash five points clear of second-placed Exeter who face a tricky trip to fourth-placed Moseley tomorrow.

Coventry have endured a difficult start to the season and have lost three out of their four matches so far and have yet to win at home.
