June 8, 1901

CHURCH LENCH: John Raynard and Aaron Smith, of no fixed abode, were charged with encamping on the highway at Church Lench on May 31. The defendants did not appear. PC Hancock proved service of the summonses and stated the facts, and a warrant was issued for their arrests.

June 12, 1926

Dumbleton: On Thursday week, the choir of the Dumbleton and Wormington Women's Institute journeyed to Gloucester to take part in the singing competition in the Corn Exchange. The choir were triumphant, winning Class B with 176 points, 11 clear of second placed Stratton with Baunton.

June 9, 1951

Evesham: To celebrate Road Courtesy Week, the first of a series of film shows on the prevention of road accidents to be given throughout Evesham was held at the Midland Red Garage, Abbey Road, Evesham, on Tuesday. Bus drivers and postmen attended the performance, which was given from a cine-van and held in conjunction with the ROSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents).

Evesham: The likelihood of all the young people leaving school this summer finding jobs was described as "dismal" by an Evesham careers officer this week. Mrs Helen Marshall said it was possible that in the Vale there could be as many as 270 youngsters, aged 16, looking for jobs by the autumn.
