TIM Concannon completed a remarkable double when he was named Players' Player of the Year at Pershore Town's presentation evening last Friday night.

The senior award followed Concannon's vote as Player of the Season for the second team 12 months earlier.

Town, under the guidance of Colin Shepherd, who was named Manager of the Year, finished fourth in the Midland Combination Premier Division and are confident of an even higher placing next term with the majority of players re-signing.

Goalkeeper Neil Turner was named Supporters' Player of the Year, Marc Badger received the Reserve team Player of the Year award and vice-chairman and programme editor Terry Conway was named Clubman of the Year.

The club have applied to enter a team in the Midland Floodlit Youth League next season, alongside neighbours, Worcester City, Stratford Town and Evesham United, who ended the 2000/2001 campaign at the foot of the Southern Division table.

Senior players at Common Road will be back in friendly action on Saturday, July 14.

Phil Mullen's men will face Chaddesley Corbett, nine days prior to the start of pre-season training.

United have also arranged attractive home warm-ups against Kidderminster and Cheltenham on Wednesday and Thursday, July 18 and 19.

"These are the only dates the clubs could fit in and you've got to take them when they come along," said Robins chief Mullen.
