POLICE are hunting a "very smartly-dressed" thief who has carried out a series of credit card thefts at hotels, using them to net more than £10,000.

The man, whose victims have mainly been businessmen, has entered bedrooms and conference rooms at Wyre Forest hotels.

Since January the thief has carried out 10 burglaries and police have now issued a photograph of a man they want to question and an appeal for information.

A Kidderminster Police spokesman said the hotels targeted were of a good quality and the man was not being challenged because he was wearing a suit.

It is not known how the intruder gains access to the hotel rooms but police say there has been no indication of forced entry in the incidents so far.

The stolen credit cards have subsequently been used in Wyre Forest and across the Midlands to obtain 'high value' electrical goods and 'cash back' at supermarkets.

In addition to the credit cards, high value computer equipment was also stolen during the incidents.

The man is described as of Mediterranean appearance, 25 to 35 years old, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 10ins tall, of proportionate build with black receding hair and he is clean-shaven.

He is described as well spoken and very smartly dressed, wearing a suit and tie.

Det Insp Adrian Todd said: "I would like to appeal to the public to assist us with the investigation of these offences.

The man who features in the photographs and video footage would appear to be very distinctive, and the quality of those pictures is good.

"I would ask anyone who knows the identity of this man to contact Kidderminster police on 01562 820888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
