A MAN accused of hitting a guest with a video camera at a wedding anniversary party has been bound over to keep the peace.

Eamon Power, 38, of Cathedral Avenue, Kidderminster, denied assaulting Robert Woodall causing actual bodily harm last November.

The prosecution offered no evidence at Worcester crown court and he was bound over in the sum of £150 to be of good behaviour for 12 months. A formal not guilty verdict was recorded.

Mr Antonie Muller, prosecuting, said there was a flare-up at the wedding celebration at the Habberley Tenants Club involving a dozen people.

But time had passed and Power and Mr Woodall still used the club. It was to Mr Woodall's credit that he felt this should be done in an atmosphere of friendship and reconciliation.

Mr Alan Parker, defending, said Power acknowledged that his behaviour on that night, like that of many others, fell below a proper standard. He was grateful that Mr Woodall was prepared to let the matter drop.

Recorder Anthony Palmer QC said he was pleased the matter had been resolved in an amicable way.
