CYCLING: Howard Jones recorded the fastest time for Wyre Forest Fabricolour Cycle Racing Club in the veterans 10-mile time trial championships.
Jones posted 23 minutes 27 seconds in the competition at Ryton, Coventry.
The other two members competing were William Picton, who recorded 26-38, and Mick Gray 27-30.
In the VTTA 25-mile time trial at Rugeley, Len Holbeche recorded a time of one hour 1-43, Paul Prince 1-2-2, Phil Tranter 1-3-58, Fred Browning 1-11-18 and Bill Picton 1-12-51.
Over the same roads the day earlier, Browning had led the Wyre Forest trio in the 10-mile time trial in 27-7, with Picton 28-15 and Gray 28-36.
