TAE KWON DO: Joseph Cartwright and Mohammed Zafar were awarded their black belts at a recent grade examination at Glades Leisure Centre.
The duo from Forest Glades Tae Kwon Do School had to train for three-and-a-half years to achieve their goal.
Second dan was awarded to Michael Hill and there were third dans for Leo Withers and Matthew Kiteley, who have been training for around eight years.
The exams tested the students on techniques including patterns, sparring and self-defence.
It also demonstrated physical endurance and mental focus and discipline.
