THE streets of Redditch were sharply in focus when a famous film producer paid a visit to support Labour candidate Jacqui Smith.
Lord Puttnam, a long-time Labour activist and producer of movie classics Chariots of Fire and Memphis Belle, was out and about meeting people in Church Green on Thursday.
Lord Puttnam said he had been very busy during the four-week campaign and that he was glad to be in Redditch, his first time in the town.
His visit came a week after Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott stopped off at Arrow Valley Countryside Centre.
"Luckily, I'm egg free," he said.
