Redditch Arrows fell to a second straight loss in a tight 12-0 defeat to league leaders Gateshead Senators.

Despite controlling the game the Arrows, in their first home game of the season, were unable to capitalise on scoring opportunities and Gates-head scored in the first quarter and late on.

Gateshead managed put together their best drive of the game midway through the first quarter going 80 yards downfield, completed on a four yard John Harrison rush for a 6-0 lead.

Arrows twice had the ball within their opponents' five yard line on first down only to see the Gateshead defense hold firm and deny them.

Gateshead finally made the Arrows pay by controlling the ball for the majority of the fourth quarter and going 70 yards and a one yard rush from Lee Fraser on the two minute warning.
