A BROMSGROVE firm is offering exciting opportunities for school leavers.

Stoke Works-based PolymerLatex says good staff with the right skills are hard to find.

When the firm heard about a new Government work-based training initiative, bosses jumped at the chance to take on two new members of staff.

Town teenagers Robert Coupe and Stephanie Connell have entered a two-year scheme with the Westonhall Road business.

It will enable them to gain formal qualifications through NEW College, which has a Bromsgrove campus, and valuable practical experience in their chosen fields.

Sixteen-year-old Robert is a trainee technician and Stephanie, 17, works in the administration dep-artment.

PolymerLatex managing director Graham Reed said: "Where possible we try to employ staff locally, so to be given the opportunity with NEW College to train young adults from Bromsgrove into skilled professionals, is good for the community and the business.

"Hopefully, we will be working with Stephanie and Robert long into the future."
