GREAT Alne captain Craig Millard has written to the Cotswold Hills League to complain about the state of Division Two pitches.

Millard was upset after the struggling Cotswold Two side lost on a poor surface at Henley and was left fuming after seeing his side skittled out for 27 at lowly Alveston on Saturday.

Millard has complained to the league and says teams should be punished for consistently bad pitches.

"The visiting captain always has to rate the state of the pitch and I think if a side has two consecutive poor ratings the situation should be monitored and points should be deucted for a third poor rating," he said.

Millard is hoping for a high total on home soil against Rowington on Saturday (2pm start) to restore his batsmen's fragile confidence.

Teenage all rounder Dan Woodward is set to make his debut along with Ted Smith and swing bowler Jason Anslow is set to return.

The villagers hope to pull away from the two relegation spots occupied by Hockley and Harvington.
