THE Romans invaded Studley at the weekend and it was up to the children of the village, with a little help from some American friends, to see them off.
This was the thrust of an event at Studley Junior School in New Road last week when children gathered for an event called 'Story Keepers' as part of a Studley Parish Church event.
American students from the Christian campus houses at East Tennessee and Appalachian state universities were in Studley as part of a Churches Together initiative.
Studley Parish Church curate Simon Betteridge said the idea behind the event was to imagine trying to pass on stories without the Romans finding out.
Mr Betteridge said: "It's been a big success."
