BROMSGROVE under-15s fell easy victims to Kidderminster under-15s in the first round of the Sun Life of Canada knockout competition, losing by 50 runs.

The visitors batted first, scoring 107 runs for four wickets off their allotted 20 overs, Cadwallader being their highest scorer with 30 runs.

Only two of town's bowlers emerged with any credit. Ben Rands, who only conceded eight runs off his four overs, and Joe Baker, two wickets for 27 runs. Fifteen wides were bowled by the home side.

The batting proved equally as dismal. Seven wickets were lost before Joe Baker (ten not out) and under 13 Joe Libetta (18 not out) managed to push the score to 30 runs for seven wickets at the close of town's 20 overs.

Bromsgrove will need to improve their standard of play to hope to compete to the current youth team standard.
