CIVIL SERVICE RETIREMENT FELLOWSHIP: Thirty members of the Evesham group of CSRF enjoyed tea and biscuits at their meeting in the Function Room of Evesham Library, Oat Street on May 8. Following the usual business, Mrs Ann Innis, chairman extended a warm welcome to everyone and also to our past social secretary - Mrs Dorothy Baker, who had joined us on a surprise visit, from her home down south. Our speaker for this month was Mr Tony Caldwell who entertained us with slides and humorous anecdotes about his coast to coast trek across the north of England. This commenced at Robin Hood's Bay, across the Yorkshire Dales, into Cumbria and down to St Bees. The journey itself took 13 days, but only 55 minutes at our meeting. We were entranced with stories of the people he had met along the way and the difficulties he had encountered, but I am sure, everyone at the meeting today thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you Tony. We look forward to sharing his next great adventure, which like this one is in aid of the Leukaemia Research Fund. Don't forget - if you would like to join us, we meet in the upstairs function room of Evesham Library on the second Tuesday of each month at 10am (except July).
