A HIGH-FLYING woman from Kidderminster is taking to the skies to raise cash for charity.

Nicola Craddock will fulfil a lifetime ambition by completing a parachute jump for Mencap. Kidderminster's Nicola Craddock prepares for her sky-high leap in Leicestershire.

However, she needs to raise £340 to take part in the event in Whitchurch, Leicestershire, which is expected to attract 1,000 jumpers raising money for the charity, which helps provide leisure facilities, support services and advisers for people with learning difficulties.

So far Mrs Craddock, of Magpie Way, has raised £200 towards the 2,000ft jump, but she is determined to collect sponsorship far beyond the entry figure.

She said: "It may sound a little nerve-wracking, but I am sure that combining the thrill of a lifetime with the chance to support children and adults with learning difficulties will make it a fun and worthwhile experience.

"It was a short time ago when my husband and myself were in Wales and we saw a poster advertising the jump, so I decided it would be the ideal chance to see what a parachute jump is all about."

Anyone who would like to sponsor Mrs Craddock's jump on Saturday, June 30 can telephone her on 01562 829578.
