THE Evesham Sunday League season concluded with first division Tewkesbury Town earning a point to secure their survival while relegating Knockout Cup winners Upton Snodsbury.

Visiting Inkberrow, Town found themselves behind at the interval to goals from Elgar, Scrafton and Williams with their only reply from Heath.

But, an inspired second half comeback with goals from Heath, Beasley and Fletcher put them in front before an own goal five minutes from time set up a tense finish but Town hung on for the all important point.

Two goals from Barry Williams secured third spot in Division Two for Red Horse as they defeated Moreton Town. Badsey Recreation had secured promotion with a midweek win over Evesham WMC Reserves.

Peopleton signed off with victory over Ilmington Rangers, scoring through Andrews (2), Heeks and Voice. Rangers replied with goals from Cooper and Vincent.

Third Division Trumpeteers finished the season in style hitting eight past relegated Shipston with goals from Westmacott (3), Payne (2), Smith and one for Mark and Ian Houghton.

Bury played out their final match before they disband with a home defeat against Stratford Yates. The sides were level at half time before goals from Giorgio and Kirtland gave the visitors the points.

Division Four runners up Sal-ford Rovers came from behind to defeat Mickleton Rangers. Trailing to an Osborne effort, Rovers hit back with goals from Ross and Taylor.

In the Evesham Hospital Junior Cup final, Bretforton VIC gained revenge for last season's final defeat against Bredon thanks to two first half goals from Jon Gregory.

The league presentations will be held on Monday immediately after the delegates' meeting.
