MORE than 50 letters have come flooding in to the Bromsgrove Advertiser/Messenger offices in support of our Steven Edmonston campaign.

It was launched last month when Your No.1 Newspaper backed a call from Catshill couple Tony and Sue Edmonston.

Their son, Steven, was beaten, sexually attacked and stabbed through the heart 20 years ago when he was just nine-years-old.

Police discovered the killer was the family's next-door neighbour Bernard Macanaspie who Steven called uncle and who had led the search for his body.

Macanaspie was jailed for life with a recommendation he serve at least 20 years.

Now that time is up the couple, who moved from Harlow, in Essex, to Catshill four years ago, are lobbying Government to make life mean life in such serious cases.

To support the couple write or send petitions to Steven Edmonston Campaign, c/o Bromsgrove Advertiser/Messenger, 5 High Street, Bromsgrove, B61 8AJ and we will pass them onto them.
