PAGAN Dr Simones-Jones suggests we should have the right to choose what our children are taught.

Not only is this absurdly impracticable, but equally, we should have the right to choose what we do not want taught.

Why did we as a nation turn from paganism in favour of a true Christianity?

Dr Simones-Jones claims it should be taught on the basis of it being our original religion, but the Rev Peter Hatton has made clear that what is currently advertised is not that of our forefathers, but a sanitised version. In any case, what value has it for us today, when, if we only thought more carefully about all that Jesus Christ has taught us, we have something infinitely better?

Given the pressure on the curriculum, it is hard to understand why paganism should have any greater claim than dozens of other sects, cults and minor faiths.
