A TEENAGER was in a "comfortable" condition today after being airlifted to hospital following an accident at a Worcester fairground.
The 16-year-old girl was thrown from a waltzer on the King George V Playing Field, Brickfields Road, at 7pm on Friday.
The girl, who has not been named, was airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham, with head and spinal injuries.
Tommy Wilson, owner of Wilson's Funfair, said he believed the girl had stood up in the waltzer car as it was moving. He said the ride was re-opened on Friday after being checked by a Health and Safety Executive official.
Worcester police would not reveal more details this morning, saying the investigation was being led by the HSE.
