What a boon covered seats would have been to the Hills on Monday and Tuesday, when the heavy April showers made the trippers frequently leave the top of the Beacon and descend to St Anne's Well for shelter. It is to be hoped that the feeling in favour of covered shelters will not be allowed to die until a few, at least, have been secured.

Never has the beautiful church at Eastnor looked more lovely than on Easter Sunday. The altar with its white and gold hangings and rich ornaments was banked on either side with white lilies; tall palm trees rising almost to the height of the church. The church was crowded both morning and evening. Ledbury Free Press, April 16, 1901.

Following their recent success in the Group shooting championship in March, the Malvern ATC Squadron last weekend won the Lloyd Challenge Cup for .303 and .22 rifle shooting. During this season, they have won every shooting competition organised by the group in England and Wales. This splendid achievement has never before been accomplished and the personnel of the small-bore and full-bore rifle teams are to be heartily congratulated. Malvern Gazette, April 13, 1951.

Visitors to Ledbury exclaim with pleasure at the beautiful Worcester Road approaches to the town. Why spoil this with a police station and houses? Are we preparing for more crime in Ledbury? Why spend £40,000 on a building which most people think is unnecessary? Ledbury Reporter, April 13, 1951.

The hang-gliding fraternity operating from the Malvern Hills are in disgrace again.

Malvern Hills Conservators heard on Thursday that one hang-glider had force-landed on a parked car, smashing a window, at the West of England quarry. Chairman, Reg Green, reported that he had a letter from a Castlemorton resident complaining about the number of spectators, the new sport was attracting. From this it appeared that on a recent Sunday, about 50 gliders and 250 cars started to arrive before 8am. Malvern Gazette, April 15, 1976.

Ledbury Town Council was urged on Thursday to speed up the twinning of Ledbury and the French town of Doue-La-Fontaine. Nearly 40 townspeople assembled at the annual parish meeting. It was by far the largest turnout ever seen at a parish meeting in Ledbury. Ledbury Reporter, April 15, 1976.
