THE future of a redundant Malvern Link pub could be settled next week.
J Frazier Ltd, of Solihull, has submitted a plan to convert the Royal Oak Inn, Worcester Road, into three flats and an adjoining stable into a single apartment.
The Grade II listed building has been boarded up since it was closed two years ago.
Malvern Town Council is objecting on the grounds of over development and insufficient parking. It has also stressed the need to protect the Georgian appearance of the building, which is within the Malvern Link Conservation Area.
Comments by English Heritage will be reported to a meeting of the district council's southern area planning committee on Monday (March 5). The meeting takes place at Priory Lodge Hall, Avenue Road, at 7pm.
Planning officers are recommending that listed building consent should be granted.
