M G JACKSON (Postbag, January 26) asked "What does Malvern Town Council do that MHDC did not?"
The answer was on the front page of the recent Malvern Mailbox, where the so-called 'assets' were photographed as inherited from MHDC.
These run-down pieces of town property are due for repair and refurbishment within a three-year plan because Malvern people now have their own town council. As for the Christmas lights, they failed a Health & Safety test by two independent electrical contractors. They too were inherited 'assets'.
So, P W Smith (same edition) your hopes are being realised, as the town council is addressing "some of the issues overlooked or ignored by Malvern Hills District Council".
BARBARA WATTON (County Councillor), Avenue Road, Malvern.
