A REDDITCH firefighter is hoping to win gold in America this summer as part of a mini Olympics.
Brian Hughes will be competing against athletes from the police, fire service and customs office in the World Police and Firefighters Games in Indianapolis in June.
Brian will be competing in the decathlon this year which he has been doing for over ten years and he trains all over the country to get the best facilities for his event.
"I've been to many places over the years, including France, Sweden and South Africa, to compete in these games and the World Firefighters Games - said Mr Hughes.
"I'm lucky to be in the top four or five who compete in the decathlon but there are still a lot of good competitors in all of the events," he added.
Mr Hughes will be hoping to bring back the gold medal after his silver medal in Sweden at the games two years ago.
