A BATTLING Bromsgrove mum, who refuses to stand alone, is appealing for parents locked in battle over child support to join forces with her.

Maria Pimlott, from Charford, has been fighting with the Child Support Agency (CSA) for 12 years and still hasn't received maintenance for her son.

She is supposed to receive £17.49 a week plus arrears which are in excess of £9,000 but has been playing a cat and mouse game with her son's father who keeps leaving his job each time he is tracked down.

After hearing so many similar tales, Maria wants to hear from mums and dads in the same situation so she can set up a support group to get action from the Government agency.

She has contacted the town's Tory MP, Julie Kirkbride, in the hope she will also fight her corner and plans to get a CSA official to come to the club's first meeting and explain the system to members.

Maria said: "I am sure my tale is a common one but I am finally at my wits end with fighting alone.

"I am trying to organise a group for parents like me who just need some support and if we get things together we could perhaps get some answers."

A CSA spokesman said: "We will always do our best to sort out maintenance assessments in sometimes difficult situations.

"We will also listen to any issues this group raises."
